I’ve been told that you need to use either a roof rack or a trailer hitch rack that supports the bike via the wheels (instead of "hanging" it from the typical trunk rack)
We recently bought a fifth wheel camper and want to take our bikes along. Someone told us that the bike racks that slide into a 2" hitch are not designed for the bouncing that occurs on the back of a camper. Is this true? We’d hate to get to a campsite and be missing 4bikes.
Anyone know a good option for a roof mount bike rack that fits very small kids bikes (16" wheels)? Upright mount preferred since bike doesn’t have quick release wheel.
Our SUV isn’t compatible with trunk mount racks and I am pulling a tent trailer so can’t use hitch mount racks.
So far I haven’t found any options that would seem to fit very small bikes.
